In the 1970’s, a well-known couple in the Hunter / Jumper world, Peter and Judy Whiting moved up from the Hope Ranch Riding Club and Stables to a river front ranch outside of Solvang, California. Peter, who was an ex-farrier named it the Anvil Ranch. When the current owner purchased the property (circa 2000), it then became part of the renowned River Edge Farm, a leading breeding farm of Thoroughbred horses.
